Had some lovely views of the Hawfinch this morning, which enabled me to take a few photographs. There was a covering of snow on the ground but bright sunshine. After arriving at around 9am it spent some time in the top of the spruce cracking buds, before descending to the ground beneath a yew tree where it feasted on yew seeds. These seeds would originally have been contained within the bright red berry. My best ever views of a Hawfinch a very charismatic looking bird!
