I was fortunate to have time to study three foxes at dawn. The group probably consisteed of a vixen and two young vixens. The youngsters spent alot of time chasing and stalking each other. I don’t draw mammals often and this morning presented me with the opportunity to make some fast sketches of foxes walking. The adult vixen was freshly moulted ready for winter with a fine bushy tale, a very beautiful animal.
I will be exhibiting at Wild About Wood this weekend, selling original watercolours and cards.
“Watch chainsaw sculpting, be inspired by demonstrations of furniture making, admire the intricacies of willow-weaving, or have a go at tree-climbing!
Watch the ancient skill of heavy-horse logging, or take the family along to the Discovery Zone and get involved in a whole range of activities and workshops including pond-dipping, shelter building, arboretum art & bushcraft.
Enjoy delicious, local food & drink. Try your hand at archery, coracle making (and paddling!), watercolour painting or paper-making, or just relax and listen to some traditional English music. Perhaps indulge yourself with a purchase from our Woodland Market of arts & crafts?
Take a short taster tour of the arboretum, explore our 150-acre woodland garden at your own pace, or just relish the tranquility and beauty of this very special place, tucked away in the Howardian Hills”.
